Penn believes that the most effective and appropriate way to provide outstanding, comprehensive cancer care to the community is by establishing and maintaining formal relationships with select community hospitals, such as , and their physicians. This is rooted in Penn’s belief that 90-95 percent of cancer care can, and should be provided in the community setting, close to a patient’s home or workplace.

The unique philosophy that drives the Cancer Network is specifically designed to help Network hospitals, such as Chestnut Hill Hospital, to become the premier cancer program in their service area and to compete effectively with other programs by having access to the extensive and complementary cancer services, as well as the special cancer programmatic development expertise available through the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Network The University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center is proud to have Chestnut Hill Hospital as a member of the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Network.
