Podiatric Program Information

Chestnut Hill Podiatric Program

Welcome to the Chestnut Hill Hospital Podiatric Surgical Residency Program.  This program is a three-year, PM&S-36 residency program, fully approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).  A community hospital located in Northwest Philadelphia, Chestnut Hill Hospital has strong commitment and long tradition of medical education and training.  The Podiatric Surgical Residency Program is the newest program offered.  Chestnut Hill Hospital is a member of the University of Pennsylvania Community Health Network.  Residents enjoy a diverse and comprehensive training experience.

Podiatric surgical residents receive full exposure to trauma and various forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot procedures.  Residents work with both Orthopedic and Podiatric surgeons.  Each resident participates in fully-integrated rotations at Chestnut Hill Health System facilities, office-based practices, and other health care facilities.  Residents will also be exposed to podiatric sports medicine.
Currently, we accept one new PGY-1 resident into the program each year.  However, this may be subject to change in the future.  Students from all podiatric medical schools will be considered for the residency program.

Choosing a podiatric surgical residency program can be a challenging and exciting endeavor.  Our goal is to train the best podiatric surgeon possible.  We are committed to giving you the opportunity to be trained in a stimulating and supportive environment.

Interested students are welcome to learn more about our faculty and program through visits, externships, or office-based clerkships.  If you have any questions, contact us.

The best of luck with your residency program search.  This is an exciting area of study and a rewarding field.
