These are just a few of the positions that are available to volunteers.
Information Desk – Provide directions to patients, consult computer for patient room number, deliver flowers and cards to patients, answer telephone, and perform other duties requested by the Receptionist.
Unit Volunteer – Provide water and juices to patients, collate patient charts, assist with patient chart maintenance, photocopying, make beds, deliver flowers and other errands as requested by the Unit Secretary or Nurse Manager.
Peirce Room – Host/Hostess – Provides information to the families of surgical patients. Monitors the flow of visitors to and from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU).
Mail Room Volunteer – Sort and deliver mail for doctors offices.
Office Volunteer – Filing, photocopying, assisting in other clerical functions.
Marketing Volunteer – Distribute marketing materials (brochures, flyers, newsletters) to various locations throughout the hospital on a regular basis.
Volunteer Office – Provide assistance with mailings, collating information packets.
Friendly Visitor Cart – Visit patient floors with cart that offers books, etc.
Beverage Cart Host/Hostess – Visit patient rooms with beverage cart.
